　実はゴミ処理にかかるコストの70％は物流で、ゴミを細かく分別すればするほど専用の収集車が必要となり、人件費や時間が増える。まとめて集めてプロが後で分別した方が効率的なのだ。

　ペットボトルのキャップなどはリサイクル業者に売って100円ほどにしかならないものを、700円の物流費をかけて集めるという、何のためのリサイクルなのか分からないケースも多々あるようである。
